History
The National Company of Aggregates " ENG " stemming from the reorganization of the SNMC (National Company of Building Materials) was created by decree N ° 86.270 of November 04th, 1986, with effect from January 1st, 1987.
The National company of Aggregates passed to autonomy on May 05th, 1990. It is a joint-stock company with a social capital of 1 billion dinars.
The actions of the ENG were distributed:
  • From May 05th, 1990 between the funds of participation construction, mines and chemistry pharmacy,
  • Then from 1996 in the portfolio of the Holding Public Mines,
  • Then in the portfolio of the Holding SIDMINES ( 2000 ),
  • And finally since October, 2001 in the portfolio of the management company of participations (SGP) SOMINES which holds to date the totality of the shares.
The social capital is passed from 112 million dinars in 1990 to 1 billion dinars in 2004.

The headquarters of the company is implanted in Gué de Constantine - Algiers.
The National Company of Aggregates “ENG" is responsible for the management of the production activities, marketing and aggregates development, the calcium carbonate and some decorative stones.
As from year 2000, the revival of the economic activity is felt (received), what allows the ENG to strengthen more its activity by consolidating its presence on the national market and by realizing performances in production and in financial results.
In 2005, the ENG is constituted by:
  • Nine ( 09 ) quarries of aggregates
  • Six ( 06 ) quarries realized by the SNMC in the years from 1977 to 1981,
  • Two ( 02 ) quarries realized by ENDMC / ENCC in the years from 1982 to 1989,
  • One (01) quarry realized by ENG in the years from 1993 to 1994,
  • A calcium carbonate factory starting in 1994,
  • A subsidiary responsible of decorative stones operational since January 1st, 2004 (RoCaAl).
